About Transcripts

All official transcripts are printed, paper copies. Electronic transcripts are not available at this time.
Requests for official transcripts must be submitted by the student or alum. They cannot be accepted from family members, friends, employers, or any third party.
The College reserves the right to withhold transcripts financial obligations to the College are unpaid or overdue.
We can only furnish transcripts of work completed at ��ҹ�첥. For official transcripts of work done elsewhere (including study abroad programs taken while at ��ҹ�첥), you must request a transcript directly from the institution at which the work was completed.
Our online systems allow you to order official transcripts at any time, 24/7.
Unofficial transcripts are available only to current students (select that function in my.mtholyoke and copy as needed). There is no unofficial transcript for alums/former students.

Transcript Requests for Current Students

Current students wishing to request official transcripts for regular (non-expedited) mailing may order via my.mtholyoke. Under the Self-Service Menu, choose Academic Records, then choose Official Transcript Request. The transcript request fee for current students via will be charged to your account in SFS. Once your transcript request is received in our office, the transcript will be mailed within 1-3 business days. You can check the status of your request via .

Current students in need of express shipping must order via the . There is an additional charge for the transcript and for express shipping; charges must be paid by credit card when ordering. Once your transcript request is received in our office, the transcript will be mailed within 1-3 business days using the method you have selected. Transcript Requests for Alums/Former Students

Alums/former students may request official transcripts for regular or express shipping via this .

A credit card is required for payment of the transcript fee which would then be shipped via regular mail. If you need express shipping, you can elect that and pay the additional charges for upgraded shipping. Your credit card is charged when the transcript is sent.

The transcript will be mailed within 1-3 business days following your request, using the shipping method you elected. Real-time email and mobile text alerts from the National Student Clearinghouse keep you up-to-date on the status of your order.

Authenticated Transcripts / Apostille

Alums often need to have their diplomas and/or transcripts authenticated in order to apply for jobs, schooling, and so on outside of the United States. The Office of the Secretary of State of Massachusetts is the only office that is authorized to issue an Apostille or certification for a notarized document going to a foreign country for ��ҹ�첥 graduates. In lieu of needing the physical diploma, the Office of the Registrar will prepare a letter verifying the information on the diploma and/or transcript and have it notarized.

For further questions regarding the Apostille or certification process, it may be easier to reach the Springfield branch of the Secretary of State (413-784-1376) than the Boston branch. Be sure to specify the country to which you will be presenting the Apostille or certification, as that can affect the type of Apostille or certification the Secretary of the Commonwealth produces for you.

In order to begin this process, please either write us a letter or email us at registrar@mtholyoke.edu with the following information:

Your full name while you attended
Your year of graduation
Your complete address, telephone number, and email address
The address where the letter will be sent

Every effort will be made to get your letter written and notarized within 5 business days, but please be mindful that turnaround time is based on the availability of both the Registrar and the Notary. Busiest times of the year that may require longer processing time include fall and spring registration, exams, Commencement, and the December holidays. You can expedite the process by mailing or emailing a prepaid UPS shipping label. We do not use FedEx or DHL.

This is where Office of the Registrar's service ends; you then follow the process outlined by the Secretary of State in Step 2.

Per the , you must submit the notarized letter(s) along with the other outlined requirements to the Secretary of State either in person at one of their offices or by mail. They will Apostille* our letter (rather than attaching the Apostille stamp to the original document), certifying the signature of the Notary. You will then present that apostilled letter plus the original diploma or photocopy of the diploma to whichever foreign embassy or consulate required it. *Or similarly certify if the destination country does not participate in the Hague Convention Apostille agreement.

The Office of the Registrar ensures the integrity of academic records and implements College policies regarding the curriculum. The Registrar's office is also responsible for release of official academic records and transcripts.
